Summary Update

I know it's a blogger cliché, but I have been too busy to post lately. In fact my "internet life" has been nearly non-existent, which in turn is making me feel very detached and isolated. Damn, doesn't that sound contradictory?

Mostly it's all due to me starting a new job at MotoSport, Inc. I happen to have joined their IT team in the middle of a busy shopping season, and while their doing multiple large system installs/conversions. Nothing like hitting the ground running and never getting a break to catch your breath. But I like it that way, I strive in a fast paced environment, especially when the work is fun. I've been out of the full time coding arena for a while. So being back in the game, I'm enjoying the hell out of it. I'm doing fun work, in a fun business environment, and working with good talented people. It's so nice to be not working with medical codes. I'm working with tangible products, motorcycle gear & products, something that is of interest to me in my personal life.

Anyhow, I'll finally get to break away for a bit in the coming weeks. I'm heading out of town to throw my cousin's bachelor party, and then I'm getting out of the city and spending a long weekend in the wilderness. We're doing our annual trip out to the family property. I'll be sure to post some pics when I return.

Crazy Weather

We went out to the Oregon coast for my birthday, and experienced some crazy weather. It rained, hailed, snowed, and was even warm and sunny at times. All mixed together. I started to wonder if there was some crazy global phenomenon occurring that we didn't know about. Check out the pics below:

Woke up to snow Friday morning

Sunny and Warm on Saturday morning

Hailed like crazy on the drive home Sunday. It was sunny, warm, and blue skies just 10 mins earlier.

Memorial Day Weekend `05

I'm nearly all packed up and ready to leave for a relaxing 5 day camping trip to Nan-Scott Lake. This is a private lake near Marion Forks, OR, on property owned by my girlfriends family. This place has some interesting history as it's been in their family for generations. There is evidence of old timber operations, remains of ingenious water fed power generators, and the still operational Marion Forks Restaurant. There isn't much to the town of Marion Forks, but what is there is all closely tied to their family's history. Each time I go out there I see something new or hear more stories of their family. Someday I would love to document the entire tale, maybe even use it as subject for a documentary?

CLICK HERE for pictures from last years trip. We are bringing several of our friends with us again this year. So it'll be a good chance to enjoy each other's company. Often on our trips together we are so busy with seeing sights, shopping, or other activities we don't really get a chance to socialize in-depth. So I'm also looking forward to some good conversations and bounding with my friends. I'm also going to try to document as much of the property as possible, there is so much there to see and learn about. Check back next week to find out how the trip went and to see some great pics. Have a great Memorial Day weekend everyone!
